Patricia A. Thomas, 90, of Fort Dodge, died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2022, at Simpson Health Center, Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge.
A service honoring Patricia’s life will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 19, at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel in Fort Dodge, with the Rev. Luke Fillmore officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
Patricia is survived by her sons, Roland (Carolyn) Thomas, Illinois; Daniel (Rhonda) Thomas, Tennessee; four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, a sister Jean Volsicka, Nebraska; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lowell, two grandchildren and a brother Ed Kuhn.
Patricia Ann Kuhn, the daughter of Ralph and Alice (Pingel) Kuhn, was born Dec. 11, 1931 in Fort Dodge. She graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1950. On Jan. 21, 1951, Patricia was united in marriage to Lowell Thomas. She helped as a caregiver and worked for Unger Insurance in Jefferson when the family lived there. They moved to the Coalville/Fort Dodge area and she was a volunteer and employee with Trinity Regional Hospital for many years. She retired to help her husband when his health declined.
Patricia enjoyed hosting Fourth of July parties at their home over the years. She was a Matron of the Order of Eastern Star and enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking and playing Bridge. She also organized her class reunion and her family’s genealogy history and enjoyed taking photography classes.
