Connie Jo Semke delighted her parents, Delores Henderson Semke and Keith Semke, with her entry into this world on July 15, 1949 at Geneva, Nebraska. She joined two older brothers, Denny and Terry, and later, brother Mike was born.
After relocating to Jefferson with her family, Connie attended and graduated from Jefferson High School.
Connie held various positions throughout her life including at American Athletics, Frigidaire, and owning The Gold Carpet. She was honored to be treasurer of the local union.
Her spare time was spent with treasured family and friends. She loved golfing, socializing after golfing, playing cards and in her prime, playing softball and consuming adult beverages or vice versa, whichever way you remember. In more recent times you would likely find Connie on the golf course with brother, Terry, and nephew, Spencer.
Connie cherished her family and was loyal to her core. She will always be remembered for visiting her mother almost every day for many years in long term care. Connie and Delores were as close as mother and daughter as you could find.
Connie will also be remembered for her independence and telling it like she saw it.
Connie left this earth on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2022. Left to cherish her memory are brother, Terry Semke; nephews: Ted (Mindy and great nephew Spencer) Semke, Tom (Makala) Semke, and Dusty (Jenni) Farnsworth; nieces: Lori Semke and Erin (Nick) Daniel; and sisters-in-law: Marg Semke and Peggy Semke; as well as many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
