1925-2025

Lois B. Jensen, born on January 9, 1925 in Jamaica, Iowa, was full of love, laughter and life. Her journey led her from Churdan, Iowa to Lincoln, Nebraska where she spent most of her life, and finally Manhattan, Kansas. Her spirit was as vibrant as the many lives she touched in her long, fulfilling career as a beautician. Lois was a courageous and hard-working woman who provided for her family and served her community by teaching, managing, owning and working in beauty salons until the remarkable age of 87. Most recently she worked at Legacy Terrace Retirement Community salon. Her dedication to her craft was only surpassed by her love for her family and friends, and the joy she found in working with her clients.

Lois was a funny, loving woman, with a dry sense of humor. She loved nothing more than gathering her family and friends around her, filling the room with love, laughter and the stories of yesteryears. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother and friend who always put the needs of others before her own. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength and resilience.

Lois is survived by her son, Lee (Sherry) Haar; her daughter-in-law, Peggy (Peter) Wright; her son-in-law, Rick Sievert; her step-daughter, Susan (Ron) Paulsen; her grandsons, Patrick (Sherry) York, Christopher Sievert, Sean (Alex) Haar, Jordon (Kristen) Haar, Jacob Haar, Andrew Haar, Dylan Haar, and Steven (Free) Smith II; and great-grandchildren Devon, Jackson, Keaton, Steven III, Sophie, Lucy, and Autumn. She is preceded in death by her parents, Verle and Eva Harlow; husbands, LeRoy Haar, Ben Sooby, and Darrel Jensen; her children, Craig Haar, Cindy Sievert, and Connie Smith; her brothers, Gloyd and Jerry Harlow; and her son-in-law, Steve Smith I.

Lois’ celebration of life will be on Fri., March 14, at Lincoln Family Funeral Care, 5849 Fremont St., Lincoln, Nebraska. Open house 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., service 1 p.m., graveside 2:30 p.m. at Wyuka Cemetery, Lincoln.
