Julia Ann Arrowsmith, 66, daughter of Harvey Earl Arrowsmith and Ivalee Helen (Hemm) Arrowsmith was born June 23, 1951 in Emmetsburg, Iowa and died April 15, 2018 at Mercy Hospital.
She was a Perry High School graduate in the class of 1969. She grew up in Dawson and was married at the Dawson United Methodist Church to John Wilson of Perry. They were proud parents of a daughter, Theresa. They divorced and Julia later moved to Perry where she worked at the Escadrille as a desk clerk. She would become employed at the Woodward State Hospital and move to Woodward. Julia moved to Yale and had been part of the Yale Community for 14 years.
She enjoyed doing yard work, sewing, reading, writing, enjoyed drawing and loved cooking for her family. Julia was such a people person and fun to be around that she watched over her neighbors and they looked after her as well. Julia loved to be with friends and go shopping at garage sales, antique and thrift stores. She loved her dog, Jasper and her cat, Kalie, a one eyed calico cat.
Julia was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Theresa Salts (Kendall) of Perry; sister, Bonnie Thompson (Bob) of Perry; boyfriend, Marvin Ross of Jefferson; two grandchildren, Andrew Wilson of Ames and Cheyenne Salts of Perry; niece, Christine McCollum of Bradgate, Iowa; great nephews: Alexander, Chase and Zack; cousins; other relatives and many friends.
A memorial gathering will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Hastings Funeral Home. Memorials may be sent to Hastings Funeral Home for later designation by the family.
