Eli Rue Rowedder, 2, of Carroll passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Carroll with Pastor Brian Licht officiating. Visitation was at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Carroll on Friday evening, and resumed at the church on Saturday until the time of service. Organist for the service was Tami Biggerstaff, the congregation sang “Jesus Loves Me” and “I am Jesus’ Little Lamb” and the St. Paul Lutheran Church Choir sang “God’s Own Child, I Gladly Say It” and “Children of the Heavenly Father.” Casket bearers will be Kevin Rowedder, Chris Rowedder, Melissa Hoffman and Krista Koch. Burial was in the Carroll City Cemetery.

Born on October 28, 2013 in Carroll, Iowa, Eli was the son of Craig and Kara (Reiter) Rowedder. He was baptized on January 18, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Carroll. Eli loved playing with his tractors and trucks. He enjoyed fishing and playing with his sisters, Olivia and Katie and his brother, Michael. He loved visiting his grandparents, reading books and playing outdoors. He was an awesome hugger and gave great kisses. Eli was always the happiest little boy.
Eli is survived by his Mom and Dad, Craig and Kara Rowedder of Carroll; sisters, Olivia and Katie; brother, Michael; maternal grandparents, Shery and Tom Reiter of Carroll; paternal grandparents, Deon and Dale Rowedder of Carroll; maternal great-grandmothers, Ethel Petersen and Margaret Reiter both of Carroll; paternal great-grandmother, Ruthana Witt of Carroll; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Eli was preceded in death by great-grandparents: Ruvilla and Verna Rowedder, Donald Petersen, George Witt and Marvin Reiter.
