Andy was born May 21, 1958 in Carroll, and he was the son of Boyd and Effie (Sigler) Baugh. He grew up in Carroll where he attended school. Andy worked as a welder and drove a truck for most of his life. He provided both local and over the road freight services, during his time on the road Andy visited almost every state in the contiguous United States. Andy was fun loving, quick witted and carried an infectious laugh, always up for a joke or a story. He would entertain with stories of his over the road travels, with each retelling the stories got bigger and better. He was an amateur sketch artist, primarily focused on lettering and drawing characters from his favorite cartoon, Peanuts. He enjoyed music from all ages and genres. Fishing at local ponds and annual trips to the Iowa State Fair collecting as many freebies as possible highlighted countless summers. He loved to talk cars, racing and trucks with sons Joby and Colby (or anyone who would listen). Above all else, his greatest joy was his grandchildren and he loved to play the part of a proud and loving grandpa. Andy is lovingly remembered as a proud father of four, Joby (Tara) Baugh of Las Vegas, NV; Hally (Cory) Wuebben of Urbandale; Holly (Aaron) Houdeshell of Waukee, and Colby (Jess Koster) of Waukee.
Andy was blessed with seven wonderful grandchildren, Kaylee and Ashlee Baugh, Ella and Nolan Wuebben, Blake (Ally Spencer), Tessa Ray and Jett Houdeshell, one great-granddaughter, Willa Houdeshell and seven grand-dogs.
Andy is survived by his sister, Marty Baugh of Las Vegas, NV. He is preceded in death by his parents Boyd and Effie Baugh, his sister Dianna Ransom, his brother Sammy Baugh, and his nephew Bart Baugh.
Andy battled various health issues over the past three years. He finally found peace, as he passed away on Nov. 26 from complications from a cardiac arrest, with his daughters by his side. Andy gave in death as he gave in life; Andy was an organ donor. Andy’s final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ donation.
