Nancy Hogue, 83, of Creston, died Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the Rolling Green Village in Nevada, IA.

Nancy Florence Hogue, daughter of Robert and Maude McNay, was born August 9, 1932 in Tampico, Indiana. Nancy graduated from Henryville High School in Henryville, Ind. in 1950. She later went to study one year at Indiana University. On June 24, 1950, she joined Thomas Hogue in marriage in Charleston, Ind.
Thomas already owned a farm there, so the couple first settled in Henryville, Ind. where Nancy worked at the Jeffersonville Hospital. In 1963, they moved to Audubon, Iowa for two years, then moved to Coon Rapids for seven years, where she worked for the daycare, Kiddy Corner. In 1972, they moved to Bayard where they operated and managed a hog confinement. Soon after, they returned to Coon Rapids where she began working at Ohde’s Funeral Home. Later, Nancy went back to school for Nursing Home Administration and she first started her administration career in Carroll. She also was a Nursing Home Administrator in Correctionville, Marshalltown, Pleasant Hill, then finally Creston, where she ended her career in 1988 due to health concerns.
Nancy was a member of the St. John’s Church of Christ. She was formerly an active member of Eastern Star and did numerous volunteer activities at various schools. In 2013, she moved to the Rose in Ames, catered living, and enjoyed church activity and friends, moving to Rolling Green Village in Nevada in 2015.
Nancy is survived by her children: Amy Becker (husband Steven) of Scranton, Carol Vincent (husband Jack) of Nevada, Lisa Hogue of Perry, Carl Joe Hogue (wife Lori) of Monroe, and Jane Trenkle of Creston; six grandchildren: Jon (wife Emily) Marshall, Tim (wife Kate) Marshall, Bree (husband Scott) Schwaller, Annalissa (husband Chris) Brodersen, Drake Hogue and Jaelyn Hogue; and two grandchildren, Dylan and Emery.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Maude McNay; her husband, Tom Hogue; her son, Michael Hogue; an adopted son, Clyde McNay; a granddaughter, Autumn Vincent; five brothers: Edward, Bob, Jim, Tom and Bill McNay; three sisters: Emily, Margaret and Mary McNay.
